Healing with Your Womb: Ancient Wisdom + Womb Pack Ritual
Your womb is not just an organ. She is a portal. A oracle. A keeper of ancient feminine wisdom that has been passed down through countless generations of women.
Whether you have a physical womb or connect to the energetic womb space within you, this sacred center holds your creative power, your intuition, your capacity to birth new life (in all forms), and the stories of every woman who came before you.
For too long, women have been taught to ignore, suppress, or feel shame around their wombs. We've been disconnected from the wisdom that lives there—the cyclical knowing, the deep intuition, the primal creative force that moves through us.
But your womb is calling you home. She has medicine for you. And she's been waiting for you to listen.
What Is Womb Healing?
Womb healing is the practice of reconnecting with, honoring, and tending to your womb, both physically and energetically. It's about clearing the trauma, pain, and stagnation that may have accumulated there and reclaiming your womb as a source of power, creativity, and feminine wisdom.
Your womb holds:
Physical imprints - menstrual pain, hormonal imbalances, reproductive trauma, childbirth experiences, surgeries, or illness
Emotional imprints - grief, shame, guilt, suppressed emotions, sexual trauma, or heartbreak
Ancestral imprints - the stories and wounds of the women in your motherline, passed down through generations
Collective imprints - the silencing, shaming, and violation of the feminine that has occurred throughout history
When we tend to our wombs with intention, we create space for healing on all these levels. We clear what is no longer serving us and invite in vitality, pleasure, creativity, and deep feminine power.
Why Your Womb Needs Your Attention
Many women walk through life completely disconnected from their womb space. This disconnection shows up as:
Painful or irregular periods
Difficulty conceiving or carrying pregnancy
Low libido or numbness during intimacy
Creative blocks or inability to bring visions into form
Feeling ungrounded or unsafe in your body
Chronic pelvic pain or tension
Difficulty accessing intuition or inner knowing
Feeling cut off from your feminine essence
Your womb is speaking to you through these symptoms. She's asking for your attention, your care, your presence.
The beautiful truth is that your womb has an innate intelligence and capacity to heal. When you create the conditions—through ritual, rest, nourishment, and attention—she will guide you back to wholeness.
The Womb Pack Ritual: Ancient Medicine for Modern Women
One of the most powerful and accessible practices for womb healing is the womb pack—also known as a castor oil pack. This ancient remedy has been used for thousands of years to support pelvic health, reduce inflammation, clear stagnation, and invite deep healing into the womb space.
A womb pack is a simple external application of castor oil over your lower abdomen, combined with gentle heat. But when approached as a sacred ritual rather than just a physical treatment, it becomes a portal for profound healing—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
The Medicine of Castor Oil
Castor oil, derived from the castor bean plant, has been revered as a healing oil since ancient Egypt. It's rich in ricinoleic acid, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound that penetrates deep into tissues.
Physical benefits:
Reduces inflammation in the uterus, ovaries, and pelvic organs
Improves circulation and lymphatic drainage in the pelvis
Supports hormone balance and menstrual cycle regulation
Eases menstrual cramps, endometriosis pain, and ovarian cysts
Promotes detoxification of the reproductive organs
Encourages healing after childbirth, miscarriage or abortion, or surgery
Energetic benefits:
Clears stagnant energy and emotional blockages in the womb
Creates a sense of safety and nourishment in the pelvic bowl
Invites you into deep presence with your feminine body
Opens channels for womb wisdom and intuition to flow
How to Create Your Womb Pack Ritual
This is more than a treatment—it's a ceremony of coming home to your womb. Approach it with reverence, intention, and tenderness.
What You'll Need:
High-quality castor oil (cold-pressed, hexane-free, organic if possible)
A soft flannel cloth or an old cotton t-shirt cut into a square (about 12" x 12")
A heating pad or hot water bottle
An old towel to protect your sheets
Optional: essential oils (rose, lavender, or frankincense), crystals (rose quartz or carnelian), journal
The Ritual:
1. Prepare Your Space
Create a sacred environment where you won't be disturbed for 30-60 minutes. This is your time to be with your womb.
Dim the lights or light candles
Put on gentle, soothing music or sit in silence
Gather any items that feel supportive (crystals, oracle cards, your journal)
Turn off your phone and let anyone in your home know you need uninterrupted time
2. Set Your Intention
Before you begin, place both hands on your womb space and take several deep breaths.
Ask yourself: What am I calling in? What am I releasing?
You might set an intention like:
"I am clearing old pain and inviting in vitality."
"I am reconnecting to my womb's wisdom."
"I am healing my relationship with my feminine body."
"I am releasing what my motherline carried so I can be free."
Speak your intention aloud or silently to your womb. Let her know you're here to listen.
3. Prepare Your Womb Pack
Fold your flannel cloth into a rectangle that will cover your lower abdomen (from pubic bone to navel)
Saturate the cloth with castor oil—it should be well-soaked but not dripping
If using essential oils, add 2-3 drops to the castor oil
Optional: hold the cloth between your hands and infuse it with prayer or intention
4. Apply the Pack
Lie down comfortably on your back with a towel beneath you
Place the castor oil-soaked cloth directly on your lower abdomen, over your womb
Cover with the heating pad or hot water bottle (medium heat)
Place a towel over everything to keep warmth in
Rest your hands on your womb over the pack
5. Drop In and Listen
This is the sacred part. For the next 30-60 minutes, you are simply being with your womb.
Breathe deeply into your belly
Notice any sensations—warmth, tingling, softening, emotions arising
If feelings come up (grief, anger, sadness, joy), let them move through you
You might receive images, memories, or messages from your womb—trust what comes
Journal nearby if insights want to be written
You might also simply rest, nap, or drift
There is no "right" way to do this. Your only job is to be truly present.
6. Close the Ritual
When your time feels complete:
Remove the pack and gently massage any remaining oil into your skin
Place your hands on your womb and offer gratitude: "Thank you for your wisdom. Thank you for your healing. I honor you."
Store your castor oil cloth in a glass container or jar—you can reuse it many times (just add more oil each use)
Drink water and rest
How Often to Practice
For deep healing, practice this ritual 3-5 times per week for at least one full menstrual cycle (or moon cycle if you don't bleed). You can do this anytime except during active menstruation.
Many women experience shifts after just one session, but the medicine deepens with consistency.
